Helping learners navigate what comes after high school just got a broader home. Pathful's planning tools help learners navigate what comes after high school. What was once the Postsecondary Plan is now Pathful's Career Plan, a single roadmap that follows a learner across their entire time in your program rather than capturing one static snapshot in time.

What is the Career Plan?

Pathful's Career Plan brings together everything a learner needs to think through their next steps: coursework, goals, career and school research, exploration, testing, experience, and recognition, all in one place. Rather than filling out a plan once and being done, students can save multiple versions of their plan over time and mark one as their Current plan, so a ninth grader's first draft and a senior's final plan can exist side by side instead of overwriting each other. A completion progress bar, with per-section indicators, shows learners exactly how far along they are and what's left.

Students who completed a Postsecondary Plan won't need to start over. That work carries forward automatically as a starting point they can pick up and keep building on.

The plan is built from seven sections, and districts can turn each one on or off to match what they actually need learners to complete.

Course Plan

For districts using Pathful's Course Planner, the Career Plan links directly to a student's four-year course plan, connecting academic scheduling to the rest of their goals and keeping state course-planning requirements in view alongside everything else.

My Goals

Students can add the short- and long-term S.M.A.R.T. goals they've written in Pathful's Goal Setting tool directly into their plan, so they're building on real goals instead of a fresh, disconnected list.

Postsecondary Plan: Career, School, and Scholarship Choices

This is what the original Postsecondary Plan tool covered, and it's still here as one section of a larger plan. Learners can identify their top career choices and explore schools that align with those goals using School Profiles and School Comparison, which let them evaluate institutions by location, tuition, programs, and more. From there, the Scholarship Search tool connects learners to financial aid opportunities that match their background and goals.

Career Exploration

As learners revisit their plan, this section surfaces relevant results from the career assessments they've completed, keeping their exploration connected to the plan they're actively building rather than living in a separate part of Pathful. It also gives educators a quick read on which career clusters a learner is still weighing.

Test Scores

Learners can log relevant test scores directly in their plan, keeping academic benchmarks visible alongside the rest of their postsecondary preparation. This gives counselors an easy way to check whether a student's scores line up with the admissions requirements of the schools on their list, without hunting through a separate record.

Experience Portfolio

This section lets learners bring in real-world experience they've logged in Pathful's Experience Tracker, like job shadows, informational interviews, volunteer work, and career fairs, so that experience becomes part of the plan they're building toward.

Awards and Honors

Learners can record academic and extracurricular recognitions here, rounding out a fuller picture of who they are beyond coursework and test scores, useful for scholarship applications, resumes, and college essays down the line.

Built-In Compliance

For many districts, a plan like this isn't optional. The Career Plan is built to support the graduation plans, Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs), and Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) that states and districts already require, so counselors and administrators can meet the planning need and the compliance requirement with the same tool.
